Biography
Remco Woutersen is a Dutch classically trained cellist. He began playing the cello at age seven, taking his first lessons from Andre de Graeff and Christine le Coultre, and later studying with Maria Hol. He completed pre-conservatory studies at the Zwolle Conservatorium and went on to the professional program at the Utrecht Conservatorium, both under Ran Varon, passing his cello final exams in 2010. He also studied in masterclasses with teachers including Dmitri Ferschtman, Marcio Carneiro, Rene Berman, Jaap Kruithof and Gavriel Lipkind. As a soloist he has performed cello concertos by Lalo, Saint-Saens and Dvorak, and has played in ensembles such as the conservatory orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra (Nationaal Jeugd Orkest) and the Constantijn Youth String Orchestra.
Since early 2013 he has been a cellist with the Ciconia Consort (The Hague String Orchestra), and he is active in chamber ensembles including the KolLev Cello Quartet, the Ravivo Quartet and Trio Art, alongside work as a private cello teacher.
