Biography

Laura ten Hoedt is a Dutch singer and pianist, born 13 January 1985 in IJsselstein, Netherlands, best known under her solo stage name LadyLau. She took up keyboard around age nine, later moving to piano, and began vocal training at seventeen before writing her own material. Her debut album as LadyLau, “Sense” (2008), was warmly received in the Dutch press.

Beyond her solo work, she has been active across international progressive rock and metal projects, contributing vocals to voXager (Germany) — where she voices the character Elena Kho on the space-themed album “Beyond the Frontier” — Escapedia (Norway), Elemental Journey (Netherlands) and Legend’s Ghost (USA), as well as live performances with Dial and in Ayreon tribute settings. Her work is documented on Encyclopaedia Metallum (The Metal Archives) and Discogs.
