Biography
Iris van ‘t Veer is a Dutch classically trained singer, voice teacher and choir conductor based in Amersfoort. She graduated from the Utrecht Conservatorium with a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Singing in 2013, having moved into music studies at 23 after first studying Celtic languages and discovering her voice in a women’s student choir. She performs across a range of settings, from solo Lied repertoire with piano to Baroque programmes with Ensemble Coronis, and conducts the Utrecht student choir Medusa. She teaches individual voice and choir lessons, including at the Scholen in de Kunst music school in Amersfoort.
A symphonic and progressive metal enthusiast since her teens (an interest deepened by an exchange period in Helsinki and a love of Finnish music), she crosses over from the classical world into prog/metal recordings.
Detail credits on TDW material
Iris has done lead and choir vocals on The Days The Clock Stopped (2020) and Fountains and helped with choir arrangements and can be heard in the choir on the Bane of the Talebearer OST.
