Biography

Cathinca Porsius (born 1995) is a Dutch flautist. She began flute lessons at the age of eight and went on to study classical transverse flute under Leon Berendse at the conservatory in Tilburg from 2014. During her studies she played in several youth and project orchestras, including the Euregio Youth Orchestra (where she became flute section leader in 2016), the Nederlands Symfonie Project, and the Dutch Student Orchestra. Alongside her classical training she also works as a flute teacher.

Since 2023 she has played in the southern-Dutch pagan folk band Laguz, contributing transverse flute as well as recorders, tin whistle and low whistle to releases such as the album “A View From Down Below” (2024) and the EP “Songs for Taliesin” (2026).
