Biography
Elvya (performing as Elvya Dulcimer) is a Belgian hammered dulcimer player, singer and graphic artist based in Genk, Belgium. She first encountered the hammered dulcimer at age 14 and it became her signature instrument; she plays largely by ear and improvises much of her music. As a solo artist she releases original, nature-inspired material under an elfin “real-life fairy” persona, with albums including “Untold Stories” (2015) and “Echoes” (2018).
Beyond her own releases, Elvya is an in-demand guest and session musician who has performed and recorded with well-known acts such as Ayreon and Leaves’ Eyes, and has contributed to film, TV and series soundtracks. She also offers her playing and elf-style vocals as session work.
