Biography

Tristan Visser is a Dutch guitarist and sound artist. In the metal world he is best known as the former lead guitarist of the German heavy/power metal band Majesty, which he left to focus on his own work;

Since leaving Majesty, Visser has moved well beyond metal into instrumental, nature-inspired and experimental music. Based in Friesland (Terschelling/Leeuwarden) and a graduate of the Academie voor Popcultuur in Leeuwarden, he now works mainly as a sound artist exploring the boundary between noise and music, with a specialism in underwater acoustics and Arctic soundscapes. He releases instrumental and field-recording albums on Bandcamp (including “Islands” and the “Arctic Mirage” series) and runs the audiovisual Arctic Mirage project, documenting whale song and ocean noise pollution.
