Biography
Vikram Shankar is an American pianist, keyboardist, composer and producer working in progressive metal, progressive rock and cinematic/art rock. Classically trained (ten years of piano study at the Cleveland Institute of Music) and a graduate in film-scoring composition from Oberlin College and Conservatory, he is best known as the keyboardist for the multinational progressive metal band Redemption, as one half of the cinematic piano duo Silent Skies (with Evergrey vocalist Tom S. Englund), and as founder of the guitar-free progressive trio Lux Terminus, whose debut “The Courage to Be” (2018) was followed by “Cinder” (2025). He has also performed keyboards live with Pain of Salvation and contributed to Haken frontman Ross Jennings’ solo work.
